Hope everyone’s been having a great summer (or winter :))! I’m going to start off today with a few new prints that are available, and one currently rendering. First up is my Silver Cages.I set out to make a piece using spherical transforms as a base, building up with different settings to see what worked. Using some GlynnSim2 and Diamond, a pattern of delicate bars and glossy feather emerged. I was quite proud when I found a proper gradient to show off the intricate patterns with enough contrast from the dark background. This next one, just recently finished, came from a great tutorial over on deviantArt .
Air of Desire is one of the results from this excellent tutorial written by Anystasia. The design of smooth stones set in beaten, polished gold is warm and elegant, reminding me of a noblewoman’s elaborate necklace. I’m quite proud of how this one turned out. (I say that a lot, don’t I?) There’s one more piece I’m currently working on, and that’s Interfering Abstraction. This is another pattern using Anystasia’s tutorial, but taken in a different direction. I like the contrast of the blue spherical pattern with the gold plates, made with slightly blurred sinusoidal transforms. The copper spheres add a little extra interest all over the pattern.
I’ve also been working on the layout and look of my blog, working with a new background and how to best show it. After all, what use is a background image if you can see it? I’m always looking for feedback and suggestions, so feel free to comment here or on my Facebook fan page, accessible from the new fan box in my sidebar.
