So about 3 weeks ago, I was off to Michigan for a family reunion! The trip was long but in the end was totally worth it. It was great meeting all the cousins I’ve never met before, talking about the family and everything. I even got to show off a couple pieces of my work
I’ve managed in the time since then to get another piece done, titled Coral. I’ve always loved making grand Julian patterns, partly because they’re the first fractal I learned to make. I love how ordered and intricate you can make them, and all the possible variation you can add with just a little change.
I asked on my fan page if any of my fans have given art as a gift to someone else. A lot of fellow artists responded that they’ve given their own work as gifts, which I think is great! I think art can be a great, personal gift. I’ve also noticed some people (I know there’s more than one of you admitted not knowing how to go about art gifting. So here’s my challenge to you: if you haven’t done so already, please go answer the question I’ve posted; if you have a specific question about giving art, ask it here in the comments or email it to sferman (at) q.com; if you have given art and would like to submit tips and tricks, post a comment or email me. I’ll gather up questions and tips and do my best to provide a nice guide on the subject.
Also, if you have any other questions about me, my work, or anything else please ask!
Hoping the rest of your summer is great!
