It’s been quite a while since my last blog post, a lot of things have been keeping me way too busy lately…
So I’ve been asked what inspires me, and the answer’s really stumped me for a while now. It seems what inspires me most is other fractalists. I see someone else’s work and want to try that style, or that color scheme, or just to create something. Things like this work from n8tiveattitude1 over on dA:
I saw this (or something like it, she’s quite prolific:) and was in the mood to work on a fractal again. It’s impossible for me to link each work that inspires me to the end result, I just can’t remember them. But I can share a couple more pieces that inspire me
The Silhouette by ~Jeddaka
I fell in love with this piece, simply because it looks like a painting, but it’s really a fractal! The soft palette and sweeping forms just work so well to give the illusion of a painted and back lit tree. Then there’s Claire’s work
A Reflection of You and Me by `ClaireJones
I really got started with fractals after finding a couple of Claire’s tutorials, which really helped me understand more of how Apophysis worked. I’m still working on figuring out how to come up with something like this. Think I need to get a batch of random fractals and get exploring again :3
If you’re wondering what I’ve been doing lately (since I haven’t posted a blog in months), check out my Zazzle store and the new images in my Imagekind or Redbubble galleries, there are new links on the sidebar Zazzle’s been kind of fun to work in, creating new products like shoes or mousepads, and I’ve been fiddling around with the layout and style of the actual storefront over and over.
